Zall Training Systems

Josh Zall’s journey into strength and conditioning began with his personal experience recovering from a core muscle injury, commonly known as a “sports hernia.” Injuries of this nature are often misunderstood; they are not true hernias, but rather complex strains requiring diligent assessment. Josh’s challenge through recovery sparked his passion for smarter, more effective training methods and led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Salem State University.

During his studies, he gained invaluable hands-on experience through internships with the Strength and Conditioning staff at St. John’s Prep in Danvers, MA, and at Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, MA. After graduating, Josh accepted a full-time role at Cressey Sports Performance, where he spent several years honing his craft. His commitment and growth paved the way for him to join the Boston Red Sox organization as a Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Portland Sea Dogs.

Driven by his commitment to smarter training methods, Josh founded his own strength and conditioning business, Zall Training Systems (ZTS). At ZTS, Josh utilizes his expertise to develop comprehensive yet practical conditioning programs tailored to individual needs. The mission of Zall Training Systems is to empower clients with customized coaching programs that fit their unique needs and goals, helping them move better and achieve peak performance.

Josh’s philosophy centers around addressing the root causes of core muscle injuries, which he believes often stem from restricted movement in key areas of the body. His training approach emphasizes creating strong body positions, opening up the hips and shoulders, and optimizing overall movement mechanics. These strategies not only help prevent injuries, but also enhance athletic performance- which is just as important for those of us who are not athletes, too.
